Scott

I am the Lead Pastor of Brooklake, a church compelled by Jesus to make him known to everyone, everywhere. We are a community of Jesus followers working to create the kind of church where we can authentically say, “everyone is welcome, everyone has a next best step and everyone can make a difference.” My life’s work is to encourage ordinary folks to live courageous lives.

I write a daily devotional called, God’s Not Done, with the purpose of delivering hope daily to your inbox. You can subscribe here. Connect with me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. And my sermons are posted here.

Michelle and I have been married for 27 years, have 2 daughters, a son (married to our oldest) and we are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia. We live outside Tacoma, WA and in my free time, I enjoy travel, my man cave, cycling and finding the next up and coming restaurant with Michelle.

Along with pastoring along side Scott I serve as Brooklake’s Team Development Director. Which means I make sure the Brooklake team is loved, valued and appreciated. I’m also pioneering new ways to ensure our volunteers are encouraged and know how deeply valuable they are to our mission.

I am a woman full of emotion which is likely to be heard in my laughter and seen in my tears. Because of this emotion the thing I do without even thinking is to use my words in hopes to lift a weary one along lifes way.

I love to ride my bike in the spring/summer and in the winter months you will usuallly find me in a cycle class. My athletic self was discovered only within the last 12 years and I wish I’d known her sooner!

My greatest earthly strength comes from my best friend, my husband. We have been married for 27 years, have 2 daughters, a son (married to our oldest) and we are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia. We live outside Tacoma, WA.

“But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
19 For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
